The American Republic Can Save American Democracy
This slim book, by Gary Hart, former U.S. Senator from Colorado, is a perfect follow-up to our examination of The Federalist Papers in February. This 148-page document is an essay, published in 2022, on how restoration of the republic is the best way to save American democracy and how urgent the situation is right now. Senator Hart, who, represented Colorado in Washington from 1975 to 1987, has published several books, including two novels under the pseudonym John Blackthorn.
