Learn more and sign by clicking on the button below. The PIT Count is a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for Continuum of Care (CoC) funding recipients. The CoC Program provides funding for efforts by nonprofit providers and state and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness. The Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI, https://www.mdhi.org/) serves as Metro Denver’s CoC and coordinates Metro Denver’s response to homelessness. Data and information about the Denver Metro Area’s 2022 and earlier PIT Counts are available at: https://www.mdhi.org/pit A Snapshot of the 2022 PIT Count for Jefferson County is available at:mdhi PIT Jeffco In 2022 there were 493 people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January with half of the people experiencing homelessness for the first time.
