I don’t live in a special district so why should I care about Special Districts?

Do you have debt attached to your house that you don’t know about?
How did this happen?

We have special district elections.
 When? Who are the candidates? Where do I vote?
Many Coloradoans are unaware they they are under the jurisdiction of a Special District(s), how they operate, and many live under the illusion that if they do not live in a special district, special districts do not affect them. They could not be more wrong. Come and learn why special districts affect how we live in Colorado. This presentation will be part of the basis of our March unit meetings.

Discovering your Special Districts is determined by the type of statement you receive,
which will determine your next steps.
If you receive a full tax Jeffco property tax statement then all your information on Special Districts is listed on that tax statement.



If you receive a postcard, as your Jeffco property taxes are the responsibility of your mortgage lender, then you will go to the property tax Search page to look at your full tax statement:
